Lin4Astro logo

JibbGently asked for a logo for the lin4Astro distribution on linuxfr. Here is a quickly made proposition (some of you might recognize a rip off from my previous work on the Let's Love web button)

A logo 4 lin4astro

And here comes the original SVG file

Free static IP and DNS routage :)

What is cool about all this, I just found out how, with my provider, to route a dns subdomain of my website directly to my own computer.

The url is then http://server.regne.net ( for the port 80 ) A uptime test has been set on the main site, to check when my own LAN is on the internet, or not.

Due to the upgrading of the upload rate FREE.FR ( my isp ) to 512k, I will host most of the beta servers on server.regne.net

By the way, another site design is about to come for regne.net soon :)

Why not to use Internet Explorer ?

The short answer is because IE is not able to display this site correctly.

The brand new Browse Happy web site will give you the long answer, explaining why Alan, Chris, David, Mike and the others have switched to a better browser. You will note that no women was asked why she had switched, and that all switchers but one have switched to firefox. Wondering why ?

Just try some of its extensions, like the web developper tools, or the mouse gestures, and you will understand quickly ...

Back in town !

I'm back, after restful holydays.

Spent 3 days doing that:

Guess !

Who will understand what it does ?

Web MSN Messenger !!

Here it comes !

MSN ( Microsoft Messenging System ) is now available on a web interface. It looks all like the software client, you can talk to your favorite friends, work associates etc ... via a simple web interface.

What's the great deal ?

  1. You dont install any client
  2. MultiPlatform
  3. Proxies let it work :) As it is a webpage, proxies don't filter it !

The point 3 is really the one that I like, where I work, I can't use anything on internet, but webbrowsers. ( No tunnelling, no protocol except HTTP, only port 80 )

And It WORKS ! I don't know if this will last long, and free, because it's a beta version.

Regne's Wiki became public

As I wanted to share our work to anybody's curiosity, I just set our wiki public.

You don't need to know the password to reach it, you can freely participate to our works. The fact that the wiki was private was due to copyrighted material that it contained.

Those pages are now readable to the dev. team only.

Of course, the wiki will be moderated, and obvious stupid edits will generate a stricter usage policy. ( Write permission wont remain public )

Visit it now : http://www.regne.net/wiki/
